You can now download the first part of the opening chapter of my new book, The Modern World, from the books page.
'I woke, and lay on my camp bed in the dark tent, listening.'
What the hell is going on? Your guess is as good as Jant's. It's bloody exciting, though. Most of the characters from the previous books are back - but so are the Insects.
The Modern World will be published in the UK in April.
The first chapter of No Present Like Time and a sample chapter of The Year of Our War are also available here.
Hiya Steph,
I'm not going to read the preview!
No I'm not! I know if I do, then there will be wailing and gnashing of teeth when I come to the end and there's nothing else to sate my hunger 'till April.
But then again I know that this book highlights the return of one my favorite implacable forces of nature, the Insects!
*wrestle, wrestle*
Aieeee!!! I can't stand not knowing! Must greedily devour!
*
Oh, 'tis good, 'tis very good indeed! Amazing you can go from 0 to 100 mph in just a couple of lines. But now my life is bereft and meaningless. How can you live with yourself after inflicting such unspeakable torment? February and March will be the cruelest months this year until mana rains down from the Fourlands in April.
Cue soundtrack of wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Writhing in durance vile but with fondest regards,
Jonathan K. Stephens
