A quick reminder that I will be signing copies of The Modern World and the other Castle books at Waterstones in Piccadilly tomorrow (Thursday, June 7th), 5:30pm to 7:00pm.
Also at the scene will be Jon Courtenay Grimwood, Robert Holdstock, Steven Savile, organiser Chris Dolley, Andrew Dennis, Eric Brown, John Lambshead and David Devereux.
This will be Europe’s largest signing event in Europe’s largest book shop (eight and a half miles of shelves), so do come along. I’ll see you there!
Arg, now I can't make it - work stuff has come up. Sorry about that, hope it is fun.
Are you doing any more signings - is there a Modern World tour?
Did you enjoy the signing? Lots of people there?
My last visit to the UK led me to said Waterstones, unfortunately too far in advance of the event. You could post some pictures on the website...
best from vienna,
daniel
Hi, Daniel
The signing went really well. Taking a camera would have been a good idea but unfortunately it didn't occur to me - I'll have to do it next time. There was a camera crew making a programme for BBC4... I suppose that's not much use to you in Vienna.
Hi, Christian
No more signings planned, but you're welcome to come to the BSFA talk on 22nd August:
http://www.bsfa.co.uk/index.cfm/section.events
Hope to see you there.
You're being interviewed by Niall Harrison? Small world - I met Niall a few months ago; I'm good friends with his girlfriend - we were at uni together...
Will put it in my diary and try to not be interrupted this time!
Actually, John Berlyne will be doing the interviewing, and not Niall Harrison -- that's a mistake on the BSFA website. But yes, it would be good to see Niall there as well.
Hello again Steph
Is it just an interview or will you be reading too, and if so from which book!?
Hope you're feeling better.
Den (That Dreamwatch guy)
I'm slowly recovering, thanks.
Yes, I'll do a reading. Oooh, yes; they won't be able to stop me.
I'll do a few pages from NPLT and a piece from TMW; I find it best to do a couple of short scenes to keep it exciting and to show different styles.
Little kid with a beard? I don't remember there being a beard... ;-) I bloody love your June 22 post, though. I couldn't agree more.
Wow, glad you liked the post . Just a random collection of stuff that had been on the tip of my tongue for awhile now.
The beard makes guest appearances only - actually the blog is named after a particualrly weird evening involving some fungus .
Just read the first two Abercrombie books (for Dreamwatch) and now on NPLT. About a hundred pages in and it's pant wettingly good. I worked on a cruise ship for three months so I'm totally sympathising with Jant. Alas I didn't have a stash of Cat whilst I was aboard...
Take care!
D.
