Wow – what a response!
Matt Gordon has won!
Thanks everybody. I will automatically carry your entries through to the next draw on Monday 19th. There's no need to send your email again and you still have two more chances. The winner is drawn at random.
Matt – please would you send me your address and I’ll post the proof straight away.
Any more entries are welcome. Just send me your email via the contact form.
Bound proofs for The Modern World are now doing the rounds.
I have three to give away - one every week until the end of February. If you send me your email address via the contact form I will enter you for the draw.
The draws will take place on: Monday 12th, Monday 19th and Monday 26th. I'll carry over the entries for each draw so there's no need to send them twice.
Your addresses will not be used for any other reason, they won’t be sent to any other party and won't be kept after the draw. I'll announce the winners' names here, ask for their postal address and send them the proof.
Please be aware these are unedited proofs so there are some mistakes that will be corrected in the published book!
You can now download the first part of the opening chapter of my new book, The Modern World, from the books page.
'I woke, and lay on my camp bed in the dark tent, listening.'
What the hell is going on? Your guess is as good as Jant's. It's bloody exciting, though. Most of the characters from the previous books are back - but so are the Insects.
The Modern World will be published in the UK in April.
The first chapter of No Present Like Time and a sample chapter of The Year of Our War are also available here.
A date for your diary, well in advance. Come along to the Star Tavern, Belgravia, London, where I will be interviewed by John Berlyne in the BSFA meeting, August 22nd. Full details on the British Science Fiction Association website. All welcome.
The last interview I did, with Farah Mendelsohn, was enjoyable and fascinating. This one will be too – I’m looking forward to it. I will post a reminder nearer the time.
My statement is good this year, so thank you to everybody who borrowed a Castle book from the library. It does make a difference – though buying them is even better!
I’d like to remind new authors who might not know about the scheme to register for PLR and ALCS. It is worth it.
