When I walked into my room
You were lying on the floor
Among the empty bottles and the pizza boxes
And you looked so good lying there.
Well, if you can’t do de rigueur
You have to be avant garde
And if you can’t stand it here
You have to go far
But why doesn’t it worry you
That the oranges you eat
Are more well-travelled than you are?
A wrong number woke me up
Slush in the freezer
It’s alright when you’re sixteen
(Though you won’t believe me).
Well, you can lie on my floor
Any time you want, and more…
And if we leave it as it is
It’ll be poetry.
